Pipe Major Ronnie Bromhead started to learn the bagpipes at the age of 9 with the Kinneil Colliery pipe band in Bo'ness, Scotland. As a young man he joined the Scots Guards, and with the Guards Depot piping school he won every major title including World Champion in grade 3 in 1984 and became Champion of Champions with the band. He later became Pipe Sgt of the 1st Bn Scots Guards (world champions grade 2, 1984) untill retiring from the army.
As a professionally qualified instructor he has taught all over the world, including Malaysia, Singapore, Russia, USA, Malta, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Luxembourg and is principal of the Northern Winter School in Germany.
